General Information

Phuket is the largest island in the southern provinces of Thailand, in the Andaman Sea. Its area is approximately 576 square kilometers and is located 860 kilometers south of Bangkok, the capital. While being a montainous island, it is most famous for its beaches and coveted lifestyle.

The temperature in Phuket varies from 24 to 32 degrees Celcius all year around. The best time to visit the island is during the dry season, from December to March.

The official language of the Kingdom of Thailand is Thai.

The money used in Thailand is the Thai Baht (currency code: THB). It contains bank notes of 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 Baht, and coins of 0.25, 0.50, 1, 2, 5 and 10 Baht.

Transportation services in Phuket are not so developped. Taxis and tuk-tuks are available but will generally over-charge the price of the course, especially to foreigners. However, Villa Salika will provide you with a car during your stay with us; no need to worry about moving from a to b.
